Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC) in Ile-Ife has officially announced the commencement of its admission process for the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Nursing for the 2023/2024 academic session. They invite applications from candidates who are adequately qualified and who meet the eligibility criteria specified by the institution.

What You Need to Qualify

To be eligible for consideration for the ND or HND Nursing Programmes, applicants must:

  • Have sat for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and attained a minimum UTME score of 180.
  • Designate OAUTHC College of Nursing Science, Ife Hospital Unit, Ile-Ife / Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa as their preferred choice institution in UTME.
  • Complete UTME with the compulsory subject combination: English Language, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.

O’Level Subject Requirements

For O’Level qualifications, applicants must:

  • Hold WAEC: SSCE/GCE, NECO: SSCE/GCE, or NABTEB with at least five credits, including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
  • Be aged 16 or above as of January 2023.
  • Note that combining NABTEB results with other examination bodies is not permitted.

The Application Method

Candidates interested in the ND or HND programmes at OAUTHC can apply online via the OAUTHC portal. They will need to:

  • Fill out and submit their application form online.
  • Upload scanned copies of their birth certificate, O’Level and UTME results.

After completing the application, candidates should re-login to their dashboard to print out two copies of their Post UTME screening schedule.

An application fee of N2,000 is payable for the Post UTME screening, and an additional N6,000 for portal access, totalling N8,000. This amount can be paid to the College’s account through generated remita.

The Post UTME screening for eligible candidates will be conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT).

Accreditation and Campus Posting

The Nursing Schools at both the Ile-Ife and Ilesa campuses are accredited by the National Board of Technical Education (NBTE) to offer ND and HND programmes in Nursing. Successful applicants could be posted to either the Ife Hospital Unit or Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa campus.
