Programme Overview
The AADP offers grants to support commercially intensive projects that contribute to the sustainable development of the food system. To be eligible, your business must be registered in one of the 18 eligible African countries, including Nigeria, and must align with relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the AADP, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be an agri-food brand registered for at least 12 months in one of the eligible countries
- Proposals must be commercially intensive and contribute significantly to sustainable development
- Must have proper governance and financial management systems
Required Documents
Applicants need to provide:
- Audited accounts for at least one year
- Company and tax information
- An account of the βflow of fundsβ related to the project
- Background contracts and a Memorandum of Understanding
- Any relevant and agreed-upon documents with partners
Partner Requirements
For ‘full projects’, the partnership must include at least one Irish-registered agri-food company and one local commercial entity in Africa. Additionally, applicants must:
- Have been operating for three years in the relevant sector
- Demonstrate distinct and ethical partnership readiness
If conducting a feasibility study, a list of potential partners must be included in the application.

To apply for the AADP, follow these steps:

- Complete the Form: Fill in all required details and gather necessary documents.
- Submit the Form: Email the completed application form to aadp@dfa.ie before the deadline, close of business on Friday, 5 July 2024.
