The Management of the Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, has ordered the immediate closure of the university over what it described as “the roll-over national strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).”
The university’s Acting Registrar, Edward U. Aihevba, on Monday, March 22 issued a statement to this effect, saying students are to vacate their hostels and the school premises within 24-hours of the notice.
The statement reads;
“The Management of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, has on behalf of the Senate, approved the temporary suspension of academic activities in the University as a result of the roll-over national strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
“Consequently, all students are directed to vacate the Halls of Residence on or before midnight of Tuesday, March 22, 2022.
“They are to return when the University announces the resumption of academic activities.
“Administrative activities in the University will, however, continue without any interruption.
“This is for the Information and guidance of all students, staff and the University community”, the statement further stated.
