Undergraduate Requirements

To be eligible for admission, students must possess a minimum JAMB score of 160 or JAMB’s yearly official cut off score. Other requirements include five (5) credits, including English Language and Mathematics, on no more than two SSCE sittings, or an equivalent from a country with other types of exit exams or standardized tests.

For Engineering and Technology disciplines, credit level passes are required in five subjects including Mathematics, English Language, Physics, and Chemistry. Additionally, an acceptable pass in UTME is mandatory. It’s advantageous to have Further Mathematics and Technical Drawing at credit levels.

Candidates seeking admission into the Bachelor of Laws (LLB Honors) program must possess a credit in Literature-in-English.

Evaluation of Applications

It’s important to note that having the above scores and grades doesn’t guarantee admission into the University. Applications are meticulously evaluated and acceptance is offered to the most qualified candidates in the applicant pool.

Factors taken into account include JAMB scores, WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, IGCSE scores, and SS1, SS2 & SS3 transcripts.

How to Apply

Interested applicants can complete the online application form or send a filled hard copy application to the Admissions & Financial Aid Office at the American University of Nigeria, or the Abuja Liaison Office.

The application should include the completed application form, SSCE results, transcripts from high school (SS1-3), a letter of recommendation, JAMB result, a copy of an ID card, and a personal essay on why you are choosing AUN and your future ambitions.

Direct Entry/Transfer and International Students

Direct entry and transfer students need to provide their diploma result (NCE/OND/HND) or ‘A’ Level, official transcripts, SSCE results, direct entry JAMB or IJMB, a recommendation letter, among other documents.

International students are required to submit their end of High/Secondary School External Examination Grades, copies of high/secondary school transcripts for the last three years, a letter of recommendation, a personal statement, a photocopy of ID card, valid Passport & appropriate Visa, and four personal passport photographs.

Travel & Residency Requirements

Prospective students are encouraged to reside on campus as adequate hostel accommodation is available. Students must possess a valid national passport of their home countries and secure valid travel visas that transcend the duration of their study period in Nigeria.

Admission Processing

The AUN Admission Committee reviews completed applications only. Applicants are advised to retain original copies of their academic documents for future use, as AUN does not return any submitted documents once registration is completed.
