Fashola Vacates Office, Carpenter’s Son Rule Lagos as One-Day Governor


Fashola vacated his seat for a  15-year-old Master Edun Olabanji of Army Children’s Senior Secondary School, Onigbongbo, yesterday, when he assumed office as Lagos State ‘One-Day Governor’. Olabanji was accompanied by Blessing who also served as the ‘One Day Deputy Governor’.

Olabanji was given an automatic ‘One Day Governor’ for Lagos State because of his exemplary performance at the 2014 edition of Spelling Bee competition in Lagos State, where he beat 55 other from the six educational districts of the state at the grand finale of the competition in March.

Meantime, Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, reiterated his administration’s commitment to continue to give priority attention to the education sector, saying students from the state public schools are now academic champions winning national competition awards.
