EKSU Gets 2 New Deputy Vice-Chancellors


Ekiti State University, EKSU appoints Professor (Mrs.) Ibiyinka Ogunlade and Professor Olufemi Victor Adeoluwa as new Deputy Vice-Chancellors.

Professor (Mrs.) Ibiyinka Ogunlade and Professor Olufemi Victor Adeoluwa have been appointed as Deputy Vice-Chancellors of Ekiti State University, Ado – Ekiti.

The appointments were made at the 218th meeting of Senate held on 23rd July, 2014 and presided over by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Patrick Oladipo Aina, FAS.

Professor (Mrs.) Ogunlade of the Faculty of Science emerged the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, (Academic) while Professor Adeoluwa is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development) with effect from 24th July, 2014. The appointments are for a period of (2) two years and renewable for another term of office.

Professor Ogunlade, a Professor of Organic Chemistry has held various positions in the University. She was Ag. Head of Department, Director, Institute of Science Laboratory Technology, Representative of School of Post Graduate Studies, Oral Examination of Ph.D Thesis and M.Sc Thesis in the Department of Curriculum Studies, Faculty of Education.

She is currently Chairman of Ceremonies Committee. Born 62 years ago, Professor Ogunlade, who recently became President, National association of Women in Academics (NAWACS) EKSU Chapter, holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry of University of Ibadan (1977); Master Degree in Analytical Chemistry of University of Ibadan (1983);  Ph.D Applied Chemistry from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife) (1992); and a PGD (Education) from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (1995).

Professor Ogunlade has taught at the Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo before joining the services of University of Ado – Ekiti (UNAD) now Ekiti State University (EKSU) in 2002. She became a Professor in 2011
She is a member of several academic and professional bodies. These include: the Chemical society of Nigeria, Science Association of Nigeria, Institute of Food Science & Technology, Institute of Public Analysts of Nigeria (IPAN), Nutrition Society of Nigeria and Children-in-Science & Technology.

She is the President of Women Institution for Development and Environmental Protection (WIDEP) and a Fellow of Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (ICCON).
She had authored several books and has several publications both in local and international journals to her credit.
She is married and blessed with children.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development) Professor Olufemi Adeoluwa was born on 5th March, 1965.
Professor Adeoluwa attended Aquinas College, Akure between 1975 and 1980.
He was admitted to study History at the University of Benin, Benin City where he bagged his B.Ed (Arts) Second Class (Upper Division) degree in History at the University of Benin (1986).

Professor Adeoluwa bagged his M.Ed Educational Technology Degree from the University of Ibadan in 1988 and his Doctorate degree from the University of Ado – Ekiti now Ekiti State University in 2002. The New Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development) became a Professor in  2009.

Professor Adeoluwa has taught at the Ondo State College of Education, Ikere – Ekiti before joining the services of University of Ado – Ekiti now Ekiti State University (EKSU) in the Department of Curriculum Studies, faculty o f Education as Assistant Lecturer in 1990 and has remained and academic staff in the Department of Curriculum Studies, Faculty  of Education, of the University.

He is a member of several academic and professional bodies including; Nigeria Association for Educational Media and Technology (NAEMT), Board of Trustee, National Association for Science, Humanities and Education Research (NASHER), Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).

He had authored several books and has several publications both in the local and International journals.
He is married and blessed with Children.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Patrick Oladipo Aina has since congratulated Professor (Mrs.) Ogunlade and Professor Adeoluwa on their new appointments.
