FUD 8th & 9th Convocation Ceremony Programme of Events

Federal University Dutse in Jigawa State has released the official timetable for its upcoming 8th and 9th combined convocation. The programme is packed with formal events and will run for almost a week, starting Monday, 30 June and ending with the main convocation on Saturday, 5 July 2025.

Monday, 30 June 2025

Vice-Chancellor’s Press Briefing

• Venue: FUD Senate Chamber (New Senate Extension)
• Time: 2:00 PM

This opens the convocation week, with the Vice-Chancellor expected to brief the press on the university’s progress and plans.

Friday, 4 July 2025

Pre-Convocation Lecture

• Lecturer: Prof. J.D. Amin, OFR (FUD’s Pioneer Vice-Chancellor)
• Chairperson: Prof. Fatima Batul Mukhtar (Former Vice-Chancellor)
• Venue: Nuhu Muhammad Sanusi Auditorium, FUD
• Time: 4:00 PM

Chancellor’s Night & Send-Forth Ceremony

• Honouring members of the 3rd Governing Council and former Deputy Vice-Chancellors
• Venue: Banquet Hall, Government House, Dutse
• Time: 8:00 PM

This part of the ceremony combines celebration and farewell, bringing together senior figures and university guests.

Main Convocation Ceremony

• Venue: Convocation Square, FUD
• Time: 9:00 AM

Graduands, families, and staff are expected to arrive early. This is the key event of the entire week.
