Registered students of Nigerian universities can now get a brand new laptop with N10,000 deposit. This scheme was initiated by the Federal Ministry of Communication Technology.
The Federal Ministry of Communication Technology in collaboration with the National Information Technology Development Agency has initiated a Computer Ownership Scheme (COS) to enable registered students of Nigerian universities to acquire a new laptop with top-notch configuration.
The Scheme aims to:
- Facilitate students (undergraduates) ownership and accessibility to computers;
- Boost knowledge or build capacity through internet-available educational resources; and
- Enhance the use of personal computers nationally.
Under the scheme, registered students have access to a TEN THOUSAND NAIRA (N10, 000:00) grant which will serve as a deposit (for the pay-at-once option) or equity contribution (for the loan option) towards the acquisition of the laptop.
Interested students are to register at www.cosportal.com.ng and select preferred payment method based on the options indicated below:
PAY AT ONCE
LOAN TO SPONSOR / PAY IN INSTALMENTS
(Please note under this option, applicants need a sponsor as the Central bank of Nigeria does not allow granting of loans to students.)
The laptop vendor, an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), initiates the process of delivering the PC requested and you will be kept abreast of progress.
Take delivery of the laptop.
All undergraduates are advised to take advantage of this scheme. Please send all enquiries to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
