Academic Staff Recruitment for 2024
Iconic Open University is seeking enthusiastic Graduate Assistants and Assistant Lecturers in several fields.
These include Arabic, Criminology/Peace Studies, Islamic Studies, International Relations, Sociology, and History.
The successful candidates will take on important roles, ensuring the delivery of quality education and contributing to the academic community.
Responsibilities of the Position
As an academic staff member, you will have several key responsibilities.
- Teaching and Instruction: You will develop engaging course materials for undergraduate students.
- You will also use innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning experiences.
- You will provide timely feedback to students and maintain office hours for consultations.
- Research and Scholarship: You are expected to conduct original research and publish your findings in reputable journals.
- You will also be encouraged to seek research funding and present your work at conferences and seminars.
- Service and Outreach: In addition to teaching, you will participate in university committees and contribute to community outreach programmes.

Qualifications Needed
To be eligible for this position, you must have a First Class or Second Class Upper Bachelor’s degree in Arabic, Criminology/Peace Studies, Islamic Studies, International Relations, Sociology, History, or related disciplines.
You must also hold a Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
Experience in conducting and publishing research is essential, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in academia is also necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
The university prefers candidates with experience in online and hybrid teaching formats.
Membership in professional organisations and an established academic network will be an added advantage.
