Kano Approves 10-Day Sallah Break for Schools

Kano State Government Public Holiday

The Kano State Government has approved ten days for all public and private primary schools, as well as post-primary schools, to celebrate Eid-El-Kabir Sallah.

According to a statement issued by the state Ministry of Education’s spokesperson, Aliyu Yusuf, the break will last from Thursday, July 7th to Sunday, July 17th, 2022.

As a result, the ministry directed that all SS3 students sitting for NECO, NABTEB, and NBAIS examinations, as well as students on exchange from other states at GSS Gwarzo and GGSS Shekara, remain in their respective schools.

Similarly, the ministry has directed all Head Teachers and Principals to ensure that boarding students return to their schools on Sunday, July 17th, and day students return on Monday, July 18th, 2022, as normal academic activities will resume on the resumption day.

However, the ministry warned that defaulting students would face appropriate disciplinary action.
