MTN Foundation Scholarship Programme has supported Nigerian students since 2010. The 2026 edition continues the yearly award for high-performing students in public tertiary schools across the country.
The scholarship comes under three categories, and each one has its own target group, study level and academic rule. Students should check the category that fits their course, level and CGPA before applying.
MTN Foundation Scholarship Categories
MTN Foundation offers the scholarship through three routes. They are the Science and Technology Scholarship, the Scholarship for Blind Students and the Top 10 UTME Scholarship.
MTN Science and Technology Scholarship
MTN Foundation Science and Technology Scholarship started in 2010. It supports eligible 300 level students studying science and technology-related courses in Nigerian public universities, polytechnics and colleges of education.
For the 2026 edition, 400 students will receive scholarships worth ₦300,000 each. The award can continue until graduation, as long as the students meet the grade and upskilling requirements.
MTN Scholarship for Blind Students
MTN Foundation Scholarship for Blind Students started in 2012. It supports eligible blind students in 200 and 300 level courses across Nigerian public universities, polytechnics and colleges of education.
The category awards 100 students ₦300,000 each year. The scholarship continues yearly until graduation, provided the students meet the required academic standards.
MTN Top 10 UTME Scholarship
MTN Foundation Top 10 UTME Scholarship started in 2020. The top 10 scoring UTME candidates, as announced by JAMB, automatically qualify for the award.
Each successful candidate receives ₦300,000 from 100 level until graduation, as long as the grade requirements are met. This category applies to any course of study and any Nigerian tertiary school, whether public or private.
