The attention of the authorities of the Mountain Top University has been drawn to different formats of messages (texts and on social media) purportedly issued by the University Management indicating that “…payment through the school’s E-Portal is currently inactive and currently is undergoing technical maintenance … and as such students, their parents or guardians should make payments of all fees prior to their resumption which is in about a week from now, into a more secured bank account with details as given hereunder:

The Management of the Mountain Top University wishes to state without equivocation that the contents and context of such messages are untrue, fraudulent, malicious and nefarious and should be disregarded as it is aimed at defrauding unsuspecting Students, their parents or guardians.

For the avoidance of doubt and to put the record straight, the general public, most especially our Students, their parents or guardians are to note that the messages did NOT emanate from the Mountain Top University, neither has there been any instruction whatsoever to our Students, their parents or guardians to make payment into an individual bank account.

In the future, it is advised that our esteemed stakeholders and interested individuals should kindly check the official website (www.mtu.edu.ng) and the social media platforms of the University for Verified Information about the institution.
