Available Specialised Nursing Programmes

The school offers two specialised programmes tailored to meet the demands of highly focused areas of nursing:

  1. Post Basic Nephrology Nursing
  2. Post Basic Oncology Nursing

Both programmes are designed to run from November 2024 to November 2025, spanning a comprehensive 12 calendar months dedicated to intensive training and practical exposure.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for these programmes, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
  • Hold a current practicing license issued by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
  • Have passed at least five subjects at O’ level, GCE, WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB in not more than two sittings (or just one sitting for NABTEB). These subjects must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

How to Apply

Step-by-Step Application Process:

  1. Obtain the Application Form: Application forms are available at the School of Post Basic Nursing, National Hospital Abuja. A non-refundable fee of NGN 20,000.00 is required at Account I, National Hospital Abuja for the form.
  2. Additional Payment:
    • A fee of NGN 200.00 should be paid into the FCT Nursing and Midwifery Committee (FCT-NMC) account at the First Bank of Nigeria Plc, Account Number: 2034009628.
  3. Form Submission: The application forms will be on sale from 15th April 2024, and the deadline for submitting completed forms is 31st July 2024.

Entrance Examination Details

  • Date of Examination: The entrance examination is scheduled for 5th August 2024. Only candidates who meet the minimum requirements will be contacted for the examination through the mobile phone numbers provided in their application.
