One of the Funds’ interventions in the region is the scholarship and grants programme. Thousands of young people are disenfranchised from society as a result of their inability to obtain any form of education. This has resulted in the region’s socioeconomic indices deteriorating over time. The Fund is eager to fill these gaps by providing funding and access to formal and informal education. Especially for orphans, girls, and other underprivileged children.

Scholarships will be awarded based on the following criteria to ensure fairness among and across all communities, gender equity, and human capital development favourable for socioeconomic growth in a STI (Science, Technology, and Innovation) knowledge-driven development in the NE Region:

Bachelor’s degree scholarship – full sponsorship for candidates from each of the North East’s six states. Candidates should be trained in relevant programmes at Nigerian universities. Beneficiaries may be chosen using ratios of 70:30 for science to arts and 60:40 for male to female.

Master’s degree scholarship – two-year training for candidates in each state of the North East Region. Beneficiaries can receive training in demand-driven programmes in Nigeria or abroad.

Doctorate degree scholarship – three-year sponsorship of candidates from each of the North East states. Beneficiaries can receive topical training at reputable universities in Nigeria and abroad.
