NNPC/Shell Nigeria National University Scholarship 2025
The 2025 NNPC/SNEPCo scholarship is open for second-year Nigerian students. This guide breaks down who’s eligible, how to apply and what not to miss. Deadline is 15 August, so move fast.
If you’re in your second year at a Nigerian university and not on any other oil and gas scholarship, this might be your shot. NNPC and Shell’s deepwater arm, SNEPCo, have opened their yearly scholarship for undergraduates, and it’s aimed at helping smart students finish school without the heavy financial drag.
Now, this isn’t for everyone. So read closely, get your stuff together, and apply before the deadline sneaks up.

Who Can Apply?
To stand a chance, here’s what you need:
- Be a Nigerian, plain and simple
- Be in your second year at a university that NUC recognises
- Have at least a CGPA of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale
- Not be collecting money from any other oil and gas scholarship
- Female students? They’re especially encouraged to apply
If you tick those boxes, you’re in the running.
What’s the Deal?
The scholarship helps cover your school expenses from second year until you graduate. The money comes in yearly, as long as you keep your grades up. You don’t get a cheque in the mail, but your academic load gets lighter.
It’s not automatic though. First comes your online application, then if you make the shortlist, you’ll write a computer-based test. They’ll pick the best ten students from every state and Abuja, verify their results, and from there, final awards go out.
Be Straight With Your Documents
Trying to cheat the system? Don’t. Anyone caught submitting fake results gets dropped, no second chances.
Keep your grades above 3.5 CGPA if you want to stay on the scholarship. One slip, and that’s that.
