National Universities Commission Advises JABU on Law Degree:

The National Universities Commission has offered suggestions to the management of Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji Arakeji, Osun State on how to run its proposed College of Law.

The suggestions were made during   a visit by NUC verification team  to ascertain its level of preparedness to commence  a law programme in the university.

On the curriculum for the proposed programme, the Chairman of the NUC Team, Prof. Ehi Oshio, advised the management to inculcate into students’ curriculum a second language.

The Dean-designate of the proposed college, Prof. Yomi Dinakin, stressed that the inclusion of a second language such as French would give the potential students an edge over their counterparts and make them open and eligible for diverse international opportunities.

Other suggestions made by the NUC team were that appropriate measures should be made to introduce a curriculum which meets the laid down standards and minimum benchmarks for running a College of Law in any higher institution of learning. (Punch)
