TASUED Part-Time Programmes General Admission Requirements.

The admission requirements for Part-Time Bachelor’s Degree Programme for both 100L and Direct Entry Candidates are as follows:

5 YEARS PROGRAMME

  • WAEC/NECO Senior School Certificate (SSCE), General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (GCE O’Level) or their equivalents with credits in five (5) subjects obtained at not more than two sittings and National Technical Certificate/National Business Certificate (NTC/NBC) for Vocational courses only.

DIRECT ENTRY: 4 YEARS PROGRAMME (Vacation and Weekend)

  • Nigeria Certificate in Education (N.C.E.) with at least Merit in 2 core subjects, GCE A’Level with passes in two subjects and OND/HND (for some courses) in relevant areas with at least Lower credit. Cambridge (A’ level) Certificate with passes in at least two subjects and Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUBEB) with passes in at least two subjects are required in addition to (1) above for Direct Entry. Advanced National Technical/Business Certificate (ANTC, ANBC) is acceptable for Vocational courses only in addition to 1 above.

* A credit in O’Level English language is required for all courses.

TASUED Part-Time Degree Programmes Special Courses Requirements.

  1. A credit in O’Level Mathematics is required for all Sciences, Vocational and Technical and Social Science-based courses.
  2. Credit in Literature in English is required for English Language.
  3. A credit in at least one science subject is required for Mathematics.
  4. Candidates wishing to study Educational Management should have obtained credit in English Language, Mathematics and Economics at the Ordinary Level.
  5. Credits in any two (2) of Geography, Economics, Government, Commerce, Christian Religious Knowledge, Islamic Religious Knowledge, History and Yoruba are acceptable for the study of Social Studies.
  6. Candidates wishing to study Counseling Psychology with teaching subject options in science and social sciences must have credit in Mathematics.

(ii) For NBC holders, three other subjects could be from any of the following: office practice, Secretarial duties, Principle of Account, Shorthand 80 WPM and Typewriting 35 WPM.

i. NTC/NBC Certificate is acceptable.

HOME ECONOMICS & HOTEL MANAGEMENT AND EDUCATION

iii. OND/HND with at least Lower Credit.

G.C.E. ‘O’ level or NTC, NBC with Five Credit in not more than two sittings including English Language

NABTEB, NBC/NTC Certificate is acceptable.

ENGLISH STUDIES

i. At least Two ‘A’ level passes to include Literature in English.

ii. NCE with at least a Merit pass in two teaching subjects including English Language and any other related subject.

iii. OND/HND with minimum of Lower Credit in Mass Communication.

Five ‘O’ level credits at not more than two sittings to include Literature in English, English Language and at least one other Arts subject.

At least a merit pass in each of the combined NCE teaching subjects. English Language is compulsory. A credit pass in General English will not be used in lieu of ‘O’level credit pass in English.

FRENCH

i. At least Two ‘A’ level passes/NCE with at least Merit in French and any other subject in Arts and Social Science subject or the equivalent of ‘A’ level and Diploma certificate in French.

Five ‘O’ level credits at not more than two sittings to include English Language.

i. Diploma de l’Alliance Fransaise 2e degree

ii. Student must pass French before graduation.

iii. ‘O’ Level Credit in French is required before Graduation.

HISTORY AND

POLITICAL SCIENCE

Two ‘A’ level passes/NCE with at least Merit in two subjects to include Government or History.

ii. OND/HND with at least lower credit in Public Administration or Local Government Administration.

Five ‘O’ level credits at not more than two sittings in English, Mathematics, Government or History, and three/four other subjects.

Any Two ‘A’ Level Passes in relevant Subjects.

SOCIAL STUDIES

(i) Two ‘A’ level passes /NCE with at least Merit in two of the following: Economics, Government /Political Science, Religious Studies, History, Geography and Social Studies.

(ii) National Diploma (OND) with at least lower Credit in relevant areas and Diploma lower Credit form recognized Universities TASUED Degree Foundation may be accepted.

ii. OND/HND with at least lower credit in Public Administration, Local Government Administration

Five ‘O’ level credits at not more than two sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, and Social Science Subject.

 

TRANSPORT PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT (TPM)

Two ‘A’ level passes Geography or Economics or Cambridge ‘A’ level with at least two passes in related subjects.

ii. NCE with at least Merit in Geography and any other Social Science or Science subjects.

iii. OND/HND in Town Planning, Estate Management, Surveying.

Five ‘O’ level credits at not more than two sittings in English Language, Mathematics and at least any other two social science or science subjects..

 

How to Apply for TASUED Part-Time Degree Admission.

Admission forms are available at a cost of Ten thousand Naira (N10,000) only.

Part-Time forms with brochure can be obtained on-line through the following step by step procedure:

(i) Visit the TASUED website by typing www.tasued.edu.ng on the web page. NB: Only the www.tasued.edu.ng. has the legitimate and authentic platform for the Part-Time application form.

(ii) Click Part-Time application form. Candidates are strongly advised to click the Part-Time Degree Brochure and carefully study the O’ Level requirements for the courses applied for before applying on the TASUED website, www.tasued.edu.ng

(iii) Complete the Part-Time application form by providing the required information.

(iv) Submit your form by clicking submit button.

(v) Print out an identification slip containing your colour passport photograph. The printed slip will serve as candidate’s identification/admission card for the screening test.

Note that false information provided by any candidate shall be detected by the special TASUED software application and such candidates shall be disqualified.

Screening Date:

Screening shall be conducted on the 27th September, 2019 for all 100 level and Direct Entry (200 level) applicants at TASUED ICT Centre, Ososa Campus of the University by 9.00am..

Candidates’ participation in the screening exercise is a mandatory requirement for entry into the University.

 The results of the screening exercise should be checked on the University Website a week after the screening.
