The year 2021 edition of the top 100 universities in Nigeria has been released by the Ranking Web or Webometrics, the largest academic ranking of Higher Education Institutions which uses a ranking system based on how strongly a university is present in the web by its own web domain, sub-pages, rich files, scholarly articles etc.
Based on the ranking released by Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), the largest public research body in Spain, we present you the top 100 universities in Nigeria for the year 2021.

This looks like a fairly balanced ranking.
The big problem is, how do these ranking bodies determine the top universities?
What are their judgement paramenters?
I know very well that most of the ranking bodies do not visit all the universities in Nigeria to have first hand information about structures and academic processes, how do they arrive at these lists every year? I also saw a similar list on scholarsarena.net though with though with little variations.
