What is the Local Pathways Fellowship?
The LPF is an initiative that trains, supports, and connects young urban thought leaders, activists, and innovators transforming cities and urban areas into sustainable communities. The fellowship welcomes candidates from every city and country worldwide, ensuring diversity in regional representation.
Fellowship Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Local Pathways Fellowship, applicants must:
- Demonstrate an interest in sustainable development and passion for the mission of the SDSN, including the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement on climate change.
- Possess strong knowledge in fields like urban planning, urban environment, urban sustainability, urban tech, and development practice.
- Have professional or academic experience in relevant fields.
- Be responsive, capable of managing regular communication across different time zones.
- Exhibit excellent organizational, leadership, and team player skills.
- Command a strong grasp of the English language and local languages of the cities they represent.
- Prove they have the time, resources, and a consistent and stable internet connection to commit to the role.
- Be aged between 18-30.
Commitment and Conditions
- Duration: The LPF is a 10-month role requiring 5-7 hours per week.
- Supervision: Supervised by the Project Lead of the Local Pathways Fellowship Program.
- Compensation: This is a voluntary position.
- Training: Fellows must complete all SDSN Youth online induction courses.
