UNIJOS Postgraduate Courses, Requirements & Duration

A candidate seeking admission must possess five credit passes including English and Mathematics and other relevant subjects at O’ Level. Candidates seeking Admission into a Master’s Degree or Postgraduate Diploma of the University of Jos must hold a good (First or second class) Honours Degree of this University or of other Universities recognized by the Senate of University of Jos. The first degree must be in a discipline relevant to the programme into which admission is being sought.

2. A candidate seeking admission into an M.Phil/Ph.D. programme must in addition possess a Master’s degree in the relevant discipline. M.Phil/Ph.D. candidates are in addition required to have returned a Cumulative Score Average (CSA) of 60% and above in the final assessment result for the Master’s Degree as well as 60% and above in the Research Project. On admission, M.Phil/Ph.D candidates register for M.Phil in the first instance and on satisfactory performance may be subsequently upgraded to Ph.D. registration.

3. For all admissions, degree result transcripts are required.

FACULTY OF ARTS

1. Department of Nigerian Languages and Linguistics

M.Phil/Ph.D. programmes:

Entry Requirements:
M.Phil/Ph.D. candidates should possess at least a second class upper degree at the B.A. level and a good masters of Arts degree in the relevant discipline from recognized University. The M.A. must be of the standard specified in the Regulations Governing higher Degree and Diplomas.

M.A. programmes:

Entry Requirements:
To qualify for admission into an M.A. programme, a candidate must possess a good honours degree (B.A.) in the relevant discipline (Linguistics) with preferably a first class or a second upper division from a recognized University.

Entry Requirements:
Candidates for admission into the Department of English (M.A. in English Language/Literature-in-English) must possess a minimum of five O’ Level credit passes which must include English Language and Literature in English. For the M.A. programme, a Candidate must possess a B.A. or B.Sc. degree (minimum of Second Class Lower with grade point of not less than 3.0) in Mass Communication from the University of Jos or an Accredited University that is recognized by the Senate of the University of Jos. FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE

Preamble

The Department of Animal Production is one of the three Departments created under the Faculty of Agriculture in 2014. The Department is devoted to the pursuit of scientific knowledge that is related to the act of Animal Science and Husbandry with major focus on teaching and research in Animal Nutrition (Monogastric Nutrition and Ruminant Nutrition), Animal Management/production, Pasture and Rangeland Management, Animal Products, Animal Breeding; and Animal Physiology. The research interest runs in all the areas of Animal Science.

Philosophy

 

The philosophy is to train students in the areas of Animal Nutrition (Monogastric and Ruminant), Animal management/production, Pasture and Range Management, Animal Products, Animal Breeding and Physiology in the Department of Animal Production with skilled manpower that is adequately furnished with comprehensive information required for the development of Animal Agriculture and Agriculture Economy in general. This is to achieve through effective teaching and research techniques toward problem solving in Animal Production. The training programmes will be mounted through classroom instruction, laboratory practical, feed mill/ farm demonstration and workshop practice, field trips, etc.

The vision of the Department is to be a Centre of excellence in Animal Science using high-quality facilities and engaging multi-disciplinary approach, vigorous and intensive staff development programme, institutional linkages, innovative postgraduate programmes that are designed to bring about high quality graduates.

Mission Statement

To advance the frontiers of learning, break new grounds through teaching and research, consultancy and community/extension services. To produce high-level manpower in Animal Agriculture and solve farmers, industries and government problems relating to the Animal Science, thereby reducing poverty, ignorance and increase animal protein leading to good health.

Aim and Objectives

The Postgraduate Programmes in Agriculture- Animal Science has the following aims and objectives:

  1. Producing persons with advanced knowledge and skills in Animal Science
  2. Exposing professionals in related disciplines to knowledge, skills and practices of modern Animal Science
  3. Providing training in specific aspects of Animal Science and Production
  4. Providing advanced professional training for graduate employees of industry, the public service or in self-employment
  5. Equipping students with research skills through the conduct of supervised research, seminar presentations, project and thesis preparation
  6. Providing training for those whose future careers lie in teaching and research at the tertiary level and in research and development in the public and private sectors
  7. To assist in the attainment of self-sufficiency in the production of basic food
  8. To develop new patterns of livestock structures and government policies which clearly demonstrate that livestock production is an important part of our national economy.

General Admission Requirements

 

(a)  Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)Animal Science (weekend/par time programme)

To be eligible for admission into the Postgraduate Diploma programmes, candidates must be first- degree holder in relevant field with CGPA of not less than 3.0 on 5- point scale from any recognized University, or holders of HND with minimum of lower Credit and 5 years post-qualification experience. Credit passes in five (5) WASSCE/NECO SSCE/GCE (O’level) subjects and its equivalent as approved by the University Senate, including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science and Physics. The credit pass in Agricultural Science must be backed up with at least a pass in Biology. Passes at the Advanced Level in GCE, IJMB or an approved equivalent examination in two or three of Chemistry and Biology or Chemistry and Botany/Zoology. 

 

(b)   Master of Science (M.Sc.) Animal Science

  1. To be eligible for admission into the M.Sc, Animal Science programme, candidates must be graduates of this University or any other University recognized by Senate and shall normally have obtained a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) with CGPA not less than 3.0  on 5 point scale. Credit passes in five (5) WASCE/NECO SSCE/GCE (O’level) subjects and its equivalent as approved by the University Senate, including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science and Physics. The credit pass in Agricultural Science must be backed up with at least a pass in Biology. Passes at the Advanced Level in GCE, IJMB or an approved equivalent examination in two or three of Chemistry and Biology or Chemistry and Botany/Zoology
  2. A candidate with a third class degree who has passed the University of Jos or any recognized Postgraduate Diploma in the subject area at credit level, as well as those who have 5 years post- graduation relevant working experience who passed a qualifying examination may be considered.
  3. A candidate with Postgraduate Diploma in Animal Science with CGPA of 3.5 on 5-point scale will be considered. This is in addition to O’ level requirement.

(c)    Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.)/ Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Animal Science

To be eligible for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy degree programme, a student must have obtained a Master’s degree from University of Jos or its equivalent from any other University recognized by Senate with CGPA not less than 3.5. Credit passes in five (5) WASCE/NECO/GCE (O’level) subjects and its equivalent as approved by the University Senate, including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science and Physics. The credit pass in Agricultural Science must be backed up with at least a pass in Biology. Passes at the Advanced Level in GCE, IJMB or an approved equivalent examination in two or three of Chemistry and Biology or Chemistry and Botany/Zoology. 

 

All applicants into PG programme of the Department will undergo a pre-entry examination

 

Duration of Programme

The Postgraduate Diploma programme shall be field/practical-oriented, shall run on part-time basis only, and shall normally be for duration of two semesters for full (weekends only) to a maximum of four (4) semesters.

The Master degree programmes may be run on full-time. For full-time registration, the minimum duration shall be four semesters and maximum of eight semesters. For part-time, minimum duration of the programme shall be six semesters and a maximum of ten semesters.

Registration for the Master of Philosophy/Doctor of Philosophy degree programme shall be on full-time or part-time basis. The minimum duration of the programme shall be six semesters and a maximum of ten semesters for full-time programme. For part-time, minimum duration of the programme shall be ten semesters and a maximum of fourteen semesters.

General Graduation Requirements

(a)          Postgraduate Diploma Programme

(i)   Each student shall register for a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 16-course units per semester subject to the approval of Senate on the recommendation of the Postgraduate school. For Part time students, a candidate shall be expected to register for a minimum of six units and a maximum of ten units per semester. Minimum number of Units required for graduation is 26.

(ii)    Each student shall present either pre-data or post-data seminar during the programme that will lead to completion of research project.

(b)          Master’s Degree Programme

(i)   For the first year, the minimum number of course unit for full students shall be 36, while the maximum shall be 50, while for part-time students, it shall be 25 for the first year for minimum and 36 maximum. Minimum number of units required for graduation is 36.

(ii) The residency period shall be two years for full-time students and three years for part-time students with options of two extensions. The first extension is one year and the second extension is six months.

(iii) Each student shall present twice (pre-data and post- data seminars) during the    programme that can lead to completion of research project

(iv) The Department runs an open Project/Thesis/Dissertation defense.

(c)       Master of Philosophy/Doctor of Philosophy Degree Programme

(i)  Candidates for the Ph.D degree shall be expected to register for courses, Research Seminar and Theses/Dissertation. A candidate shall be required to register for a minimum of 7 credit units as approved by the Supervisory Committee. Students are expected to have a minimum of 48 and a maximum of a total of 54 credit units including those obtained at Masters level.

(ii) The residency period shall be three years for full-time students and five years for part-time students with options of two extensions. The first extension is one year and the second extension is six months.

(iii)    Each student shall present twice (pre-data and post- data seminars) during the    programme.

(iii)   The Department runs an open Project/Thesis/Dissertation defense.

COURSEWORK

          1. Coursework which shall be taught, examined and graded each semester, shall be       mandatory at all levels for PGD, Master’s and Master of Philosophy/Doctorate studies.

ii  A 2 or 3 tier Course Structure shall be operational for all postgraduate programmes except              PGD programme

  -1st Tier: Core Departmental/Faculty Courses (25-30% of workload)

  • 2nd Tier: Core Specialization/option Courses (45-55% of workload)
  • 3rd Tier: Electives (25-30% of workload) Coursework at the Doctoral level        (minimum of 7 credit units/semester excluding Research and Seminars).

Each candidate shall normally be expected to pass all prescribed written examinations and up to date with his/her registration before presenting his/her thesis/dissertation for examination.

iii-       The Department shall conduct course work examinations in accordance with                      the Senate approved postgraduate studies calendar.

iv Pass mark for written examinations is 50%.

    Workload for Postgraduate programmes

            A unit of workload consists of one hour lecture per week for 15 weeks (one semester); a    3 hour laboratory/practical class per week for 13-15 weeks.

v          No course (except Seminars) shall carry less than 2 credit units

vi         A Postgraduate Diploma project report shall carry 6 credit units.

vii        A Masters research/ dissertation shall carry 10 credit units.

ix         An M.Phil./PhD research/thesis shall carry 16 credit units.

Furthermore, the overall workload shall be:

Postgraduate diploma shall carry minimum of 26 credit units.

Master’s degree shall carry a minimum of 36 credit units.

PhD shall carry a minimum of 48 credit units (inclusive of credit units earned at the Masters level).

Departmental Postgraduate Committee/Board

The Departmental Postgraduate Committee will be responsibility for advising and making recommendations to the Faculty (Postgraduate) Board in respect of the admission and registration of students, fields of study, dissertation title, appointment of supervisors and appointment of examiners

 

Membership

The Departmental Postgraduate Studies Committee shall be composed of:

                1. *Head of Department – Chairman
                2. Departmental PG Coordinator, a PhD holder
                3. All Professors in the Department
                4. All holders of terminal Masters and PhD degrees in the Department
                5.  Departmental Secretary/PG Desk Officer – Secretary

*Departmental PG Coordinator chairs the meetings if the HOD does not hold a PhD and if he is absent

Functions

The Committee is responsible for the conduct and management of postgraduate programmes in the Department. The specific functions of the committee shall be:

                  1. Formulation of rules and procedures relating to PG studies within the framework of the policies of the postgraduate school.
                  2. Making available to students PG policies and guidelines.
                  3. Considering and making recommendations on proposed postgraduate courses and            programmes.
                  4. Reviewing the supervisory list of postgraduate students suggested by the Departments prior to submission to the Postgraduate School Board.
                  5. Recommending for approval, students admission and
                  6. Any other duty that maybe assigned by the Postgraduate School Board.
                  7. The committee shall consider all matters requiring resolution of conflicts or disciplinary action and recommend its discussions to the Postgraduate School Board

Postgraduate Academic Staff

Membership of the postgraduate academic staff shall comprise of:

  1. All Academic Staff with terminal Masters degrees and PhD.
  2. All other staff with at least a Master degree but are not registered postgraduate students. N.B: No lecturer may however teach or supervise at a level higher than his/her qualification. A Master degree holder can teach and supervise only PGD student(s). Staff with PhD degree on the rank of Lecturer I can supervise PGD and be a major supervisor for Masters Students and not major supervisors for M.Phil./PhD students. Senior lecturers and above can teach and supervise all PG students.

Responsibilities of Postgraduate Academic Staff

    1. Teaching in the Postgraduate programmes of the relevant Departments
    2. Supervision of Postgraduate Projects, Research Thesis and or Dissertations.
    3. Serving in examination panels of postgraduate students
    4. Participation at postgraduate seminars.
    5. Curriculum design and development.

 

Number of Supervisors per student

PGD Programme – Each student shall have one (1) supervisor

MSc Programme – Each student shall have one (1) supervisor preferably two (2)

M.Phil/PhD. Pogramme – Each student shall have two (2) supervisors preferably three (3)

 

 

 

Appointment of Postgraduate Lecturers and Supervisors

      1. Determination of the eligibility or otherwise of a postgraduate lecturer/supervisor is the primary responsibility of the HOD in consultation with the Departmental Postgraduate Studies Committee.

 

      1. Persons of the rank of Lecturer I and above or any other rank approved by the Senate on the recommendation of the School of Postgraduate Studies Board who have terminal relevant academic qualifications and specializations are eligible to be appointed as postgraduate lecturers and supervisor

 

      1. A staff member of this University who is a postgraduate student cannot serve as Supervisor, Internal Examiner, or a member of the Committee on the School’s Boards except where he possesses the terminal PhD degree.

 

      1. No staff shall be deemed competent to supervise a student for a degree he/she is yet to acquire.

 

      1. In each programme, the major supervisor must be in the area of interest of the student, while the co-supervisors can be from closely related area of specialization in the Department, Faculty or from other closely related Departments of the University

 

      1. Assignment of Master of Philosophy/Doctoral students’ Major supervisor shall be based on:
        1. Possession of relevant Doctoral degree and or demonstration of research interest (minimum of 3 relevant publications in preceding 3 years) with at least two years relevant postgraduate level teaching, supervision as well as serving on related MSc. /MA supervisory committees.
        2. Attainment of the rank of Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow with terminal degree (Ph.D).
  1. The School of Postgraduate Studies may review the appointment of the lecturers or membership to any committee whenever there are evidences of incompetence or non-performance in terms of teaching, supervision or Service in the committee.

 

DIVISION OF FUNCTIONS RELATING TO POSTGRADUATE MATTERS

      1. Matters for the Supervisory Committee
        1. Guide students in selection and developing research Topics/titles
        2. Regular consultation with students and assisting with course selection.
        3. Presentation of required reports on student’s progress.
        4. Perusal and endorsement of Postgraduate studies logbook.
        5. In liaison with the Department, ensure timely completion of postgraduate studies.
        6. Certify all presentations and thesis/dissertation of candidates prior to presentations.
        7. Endorsement of corrected and bound projects/theses/dissertations.
        8. Assist and guide students in sourcing for research funds.
        9. Presence at Seminars and defense of their PG student.
        10. Ensure the absence of plagiarism in the thesis/dissertation.

        1. Providing PG Advisers and recommending supervisory list
        2. Recommending provisional and confirmatory admission list to the SPGS.
        3. Recommend examiners for postgraduate courses and external/oral examinations       (defense).
        4. Determination of postgraduate programme and course structures.

        6. Arrange for the conduct of postgraduate seminars (where coordinated by            departments)
        7. Organization of lecture and examination venues.
        8. Preparation and execution of lectures and examinations.
        9. Compilation, consideration and forwarding of examination results and notifications        of completion of research to SPGS through the Faculty.
        10. First line in resolution of misunderstandings/conflicts related to postgraduate studies        in the Department
      3. Matters for Faculties
  1. Certification that thesis complies with University of Jos format
  2. Certifying that Part-time/weekend (PGD) Candidates have at least 20 hours per week available for postgraduate work
  3. Consideration of all submissions from the departments to the SPGS Board.
  4. Second line of resolution of misunderstandings/conflicts related to postgraduate studies in the Faculty
  5. Arrange for the conduct of postgraduate seminars (where coordinated by the Faculty).
  6. Review and approval of new or modification of existing courses/programmes.

EXAMINATIONS, GRADING PROCEDURE AND RESULTS

  1. For all postgraduate coursework, the minimum pass score is 50%.
  2. Any student who fails in any course, shall repeat such a course;
  3. Any student whose CGPA falls below 3.00  for  2 consecutive semesters shall withdraw       from the programme.
  4. Any candidate whose CGPA is below 3.5 at the end of a Masters programme shall not be    admissible for a M.Phil./PhD programme.
  5. Attendance – In order to be eligible for examination in a particular course, a student shall have attended a minimum of 75% of the total periods of formal instructions delivered for      the course.
  6. Course Evaluation

            In the Postgraduate Programmes, assessment of students’ achievements shall be based on:

a) Course Examination

b) Term Papers/Seminars

c) Practicals

d) Other assignments.

h)        Continuous Assessment

            Continuous assessment shall be done through practicals, seminars, essays, tests, term     papers, tutorial exercises, quizzes, other assignments, or a combination of these. Scores from continuous assessment shall constitute at least 40% of the final marks for courses            which are primarily theoretical.

i)         In addition to continuous assessment, final examination shall normally be given for each           course at the end of the semester. The total score obtainable for each course comprising       continuous assessment and final examination is 100%, to be distributed as appropriate.

            Each course shall normally be completed and examined at the end of the semester in      which it is offered.

j)        Grading System

Grading of courses shall be done by a combination of percentage marks and letter grades translated into a graduated system of Grade Point Equivalents (GPE). For the purpose of determining a student’s standing at the end of every semester, the Grade Point Average (GPA) system shall be used. The GPA is computed by dividing the total number of credit points (TCP) by the total number of units (TNU) for all the courses taken in the semester. The credit point for a course is computed by multiplying the number of units for the course by the Grade Point Equivalent of the marks scored in the course. Each course shall be graded out of a maximum of 100 marks and assigned appropriate Grade Point Equivalent as in the following table:

k)        Presentation of Results

            Results from the Departmental PG Committee are presented to the Faculty Board for         onward presentation to Postgraduate School Board who shall present to Senate for        approval.

 

l)        Release of Results

            Results shall be released not later than 2 weeks after approval by the Senate.

m)      External Examiner System

            The external examiner system shall be used at the end of the Postgraduate programme to assess projects and Thesis/Dissertation. The project or dissertation/thesis shall be subject      to oral examination where the student is required to show evidence that he/she carried out the work and had pertinent knowledge of the subject area.

 

Projects/Dissertation/ Thesis Benchmark

In addition to other departmental/programme requirements all postgraduate projects/ dissertations/ thesis shall meet the following minimum standard:

  1. PGD Projects: At least 3 months duration; capable of generating one publication; have at least one clear objective; may include issuance of questionnaires, field work and or minimal laboratory/studio/field work.
  2. Masters Dissertation: At least 6 months duration; capable of generating two publication; have at least 3 clear objectives; may include issuance of questionnaires, field work and or moderate laboratory/studio work; make 1 tangible contribution to knowledge.
  3. Master of Philosophy/Doctorate Thesis: At least 12 months duration; should have at least 5 clear objectives; be capable of generating three publications; should include any 2 or more of – issuance of questionnaires, field work and or extensive laboratory/studio work; make 3 tangible contribution to knowledge; should involve a modern analytical or laboratory technique- sub cellular or molecular studies (where applicable).

    Department of Animal Production has a well-built farm structure consisting of the following:

  • Poultry
  • Piggery
  • Rabbit pen
  • Sheep and goat pen

This will give the students the desired practical knowledge in addition to the theoretical knowledge in the class

  1. Library Facilities

The University of Jos hosts a Central Library which houses an Agricultural/Animal Production Library headed by a Librarian. This also houses some virtual library facilities. The books, periodicals, journals etc. related to Animal Science as well as general Agriculture are housed in this Library. Furthermore, the Department has a Library within the Departmental building.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Admission requirements are as stipulated in the Postgraduate Handbook of the University of Jos, and in accordance with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine guidelines. In addition to the above, the specific requirements of the Department of Veterinary Anatomy stated below are applicable:

Master of Science (MSc) in Veterinary Anatomy

(i). The candidate must possess a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from a recognised Veterinary Council of Nigeria-accredited/approved Veterinary programme OR

(ii). The candidate must possess a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Human Anatomy from a recognised University, with a minimum of Second Class (Upper Division) grade.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Veterinary Anatomy

(i). The candidate must possess a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from a recognized Veterinary Council of Nigeria-accredited/approved Veterinary programme

(ii). In addition to the above, the candidate must also possess a Master’s degree (MSc) in Veterinary Anatomy from a recognized University and must have obtained a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 5-grade point scale, or 3.0 on a 4-grade point scale in the Master’s degree programme OR

(iii). External candidate must have undergone a successful conversion from the MPhil/PhD programme.

DURATION OF PROGRAMMES

The durations of the programmes are as follows:

Master’s Degree (MSc)

  1. i) Full-time: Minimum of 4 Semesters

Maximum of 6 Semesters

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Veterinary Anatomy

  1. i) Full-time: Minimum of 6 Semesters

Maximum of 10 Semesters

MASTER OF EDUCATION (ADULT EDUCATION)

PHILOSOPHY

The philosophy of the programme is the development of professionals in Adult and Non-Formal Education who are social engineers of change and who can effectively plan, implement and manage the various areas of adult and non-formal education for the purpose of ensuring lifelong learning among the end-users.

OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the programme include.

  1. Developing professional expertise of students.
  2. Developing knowledgeable scholars who will provide leadership in professional practice and intellectual competence in adult education.
  3. Producing adult educators who are knowledgeable in and committed to the implementation of the adult and non-formal education segment of the National Policy on Education.
  4. Developing competent researchers in adult education theory and practice for the Nigeria education system.
  5. Producing adult educators who can propel social change through education both intellectually in attitudes, skills, values, and worldviews.
  6. Developing adult educators who can give Nigerian education a national identity while making it relevant in a global context.
  7. Producing adult educators who are committed to reform educational delivery through effective application and utilization of ICT in both national and global contexts.
  8. Providing adult education scholars who would teach and provide leadership at different levels of higher education.
  9. Providing relevant intellectual capital in adult education for Nigeria and the rest of the world.

RATIONALE/JUSTIFICATION

The rationale/justification is to provide students opportunities for high level study and research with the ultimate goal of producing high level manpower in the field.

At the end of the programme, Masters graduates in Adult Education should be adequately equipped with relevant knowledge, research competence, professional skills, and attitudes to effectively function and practice as high-level manpower in their respective disciplines.

  1. Social Responsibility

Graduates should understand and demonstrate the ethical considerations and environmental ramifications of their decisions.

  1. Global Perspective

Graduates should have global perspective, based on an understanding of the national and global environment of the system.

  1. Behavioural Skills

Graduates should understand human behaviour in organisations, namely:

  1. Have the ability to utilize leadership skills effectively in group situations;p
  2. Interact effectively in group situations;
  3. Teach in culturally diverse environments;
  4. Help others to develop their skills;
  5. Resolve conflicts effectively, through inculcation of positive values and attitudes.

 

Compatibility

The programme is quite compatible with the University mission in the areas of producing world class graduates for the pursuit of all-round excellence through quality research, teaching, community service and development innovation. All these are entrenched in the theory and practice of adult education.

 

Relevance to National Needs

The programme is very relevant to national needs for further appreciation of Adult Education as a factor in the overall development of all nations. Graduates of this programme will make more contributions to education of adults to make them play a critical role in shaping the pace of the country’s moral, intellectual, ideological, cultural, social and economic development.

Sources and Availability of Staff

The Department has high caliber staff whose capability are quite sound. The Department has two staff in the professorial cadre, three senior lecturers and 6 others in the rank of Lecturer I and below.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Candidates for Master’s Degree in Adult Education must have one of the following:

  1. A good first degree in Education with a minimum of second class lower division.
  2. A good honours degree in other disciplines with a minimum of 2nd class lower division plus Postgraduate Diploma in Education from a recognised University obtained at credit level.
  3. Third class honours degree in Education plus Post Graduate Diploma in Education at credit level.
  4. HND with PGDE at credit level.
  5. In all cases, candidates may be expected to undergo a selection process involving tests and / or interviews.
  6. Evidence that they meet the matriculation requirements of the University. Evidence of NYSC discharge certificate or exemption/exclusion certificate is required.

 DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME

  1. Full-Time M.Ed programme shall run for a minimum of 3 semesters and maximum of 4 semesters.
  2. Part-Time M.Ed programme shall run for a minimum of 4 semesters and maximum of 6 semesters
