How to Apply: A Step-by-Step Guide

Begin Your Journey

The application journey begins on Monday, 26th February, and will run until Friday, 30th August 2024. All applications must be completed and submitted ONLINE no later than Friday, 13th September 2024.

  1. Visit the Portal: Start by visiting the School of Postgraduate Studies University of Lagos Portal at http://spgs.unilag.edu.ng and click on the 2024/2025 Applications link.
  2. Course Confirmation and Eligibility: It’s crucial to confirm the availability of your desired course and ensure you meet the eligibility criteria before proceeding.
  3. Application Form and Payment: Click on the “Application Form” link, select the Postgraduate option, and follow the instructions to obtain a Payment Reference Number. With this number, proceed to make the non-refundable payment of N30,000.00 (Thirty Thousand Naira Only) using either Remita at any commercial bank or online via the PayNow link.
  4. Complete Your Application: After payment, return to the portal to continue your application. You’ll need to login with your Payment Reference Number and surname in lowercase as your password.
  5. Upload Required Documents: Fill in the application form and upload your digital passport photograph in the specified format. Ensure all necessary credentials are uploaded as instructed.
  6. Final Submission: Review your information carefully before submitting your form. Remember, editing your application after final submission attracts a charge.

Important Notes for Applicants

  • Eligibility: Read the programme requirements carefully. Candidates awaiting Bachelor’s degree results, currently undergoing postgraduate programmes, or who have not completed their National Youth Service Corps assignments are not eligible.
  • Required Documents: Upload all necessary credentials listed on the application form, including Degree Certificates, NYSC Certificate, and Professional Certificates. Academic Transcripts must be sent to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, before registration begins.
  • M.Phil./Ph.D. Candidates: Contact the relevant Departments to confirm the availability of Supervisors/vacancies before applying.
  • Examination Dates: The ONLINE Qualifying Examinations are scheduled for the week of 23rd September to 28th September 2024.
