49 Bag First Class as UNIZIK Holds 14th convocation

The Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has said it will award first-class certificates to 49 graduands at its 14th convocation, which will take place on Friday, 13th March, 2020.

UNIZIK Vice Chancellor Prof Charles Esimone has stated that over 2821 Degree holders and over 6750 Post Graduate Degree awardees will be convoking at the week long 14th convocation programme of the University.

These revelations were made by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Charles Esimone, FAS, during a media parley with Journalists on Monday at the University’s Council Chambers.

Prof. Esimone commended the Graduands for their dedication, hardwork, diligence and professionalism in the course of their four to five year stay at the Ivory Tower. Prof. Esimone stated that the University are proud of their effort and academic standing which has further helped to raise the status of the University on the globe.

He enthused that there are 339 Doctorate Degree awardees on Thursday the fourth day of the programme as they will be conferred with the prestigious degree of the University. Prof. Esimone highlighted some of the events of the 14th convocation which includes an interdenominational service holding also on Monday.

He highlighted that three eminent Nigerians will be conferred with the prestigious honorary degree of the University, the awardees are His Excellency Alhaji Sanusi, Emir of Kano; Chief Innocent Chukwuma, CEO INNOSON Group and Chief Daniel Chukwidozie, CEO Dizzy Group.

Prof. Esimone opined that in line with his vision for Project 200, he will continue to put in measures and best practices to ensure that students of the University are given the best hospitality and welfare so as to excel in their academics. Prof. Esimone appreciated the academic staff for their work input in ensuring that the Graduands are sound both in character and learning.
