Insecurity: Veritas University Closes Indefinitely
Following the rising insecurity in Abuja and its environs, VERITAS University, Bwari, Abuja, has suspended academic activities indefinitely.
The management of VERITAS University, Bwari, Abuja, has announced the institution’s indefinite closure due to the deteriorating security situation in the capital city.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the school’s media and public relations officer, Evelyn Obekpa, the Catholic-owned private institution indicated that the decision was made in response to the FCT Authority’s instruction on security tension.
She stated that the university’s operations for the 2021/2022 academic session have been completed, with the exception of the first-year students’ examination, which she stated has been postponed.
Ms Obekpa also stated that prospective students can learn more about the university’s admissions procedures by visiting its website.
“The Management of Veritas University wishes to notify the general public that the University has successfully finished the 2021/2022 academic session,” the statement begins.
“However, due to the current security situation and the Minister of the FCT’s directions for the closure of schools in Abuja, examinations for our 100-level students will be held at a later date to be notified.”
“Candidates seeking admission to Veritas University for the 2022/2023 academic session should visit the institution or the university’s website – www.veritas.edu.ng – to get an admission form.”
