The official timetable for the 2025 WASSCE Second Series for private candidates is now out. Exams begin 24 October and end 18 December. Read on for dates, practical details, and the full breakdown you really need to stay on track.

WAEC GCE 2025 Timetable Is Out, and It's Time to Get Serious

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has finally dropped the timetable (for candidates in Ghana, Nigeria, The Gambia, Sierra Leone, and Liberia) for the 2025 second series of WASSCE for private candidates. If you’re planning to sit this one, the countdown has already begun.

Your first paper? That kicks off on Friday, 24 October. The last one? Thursday, 18 December. Yep, it’s a two-month marathon. A bit scary? Maybe. Manageable? Definitely—if you play it smart.

Here’s the thing though: it’s not just about dates and subjects. There’s a maze of practicals, oral exams, staggered sets, and project work. And let’s not forget those weird footnotes only meant for specific countries.

Different paper times? Trust the time printed on your question paper. Not the timetable.
Visual Art Paper 3, General Knowledge-In-Art 3, and Project Works are sent out two weeks early. WAEC wants you to stew on them. Make good use of that time.
Special needs candidates get extra time—that’s 1.5x the regular time. So if your paper is 2 hours, you get 3. Simple math, right?
