Candidates who plan to sit for the exam should note the two key closing dates: generation of PIN ends on Friday, 31 July 2026, while biometrics capturing and online registration must end by 11:59pm on Sunday, 2 August 2026. Late action can cost more.

WAEC GCE Past Questions and Study Support

The examination will be a computer-based test, so candidates need steady practice with CBT materials before the papers begin.

Private candidates may prepare with past questions and answers through the MySchoolGist CBT Android and iOS app or the WAEC CBT Software. Both options support exam practice before the actual papers.

WAEC GCE 2026 Second Series Registration

WAEC has set the registration process online for private candidates.

After buying the Registration PIN, each candidate should visit the WAEC GCE registration portal to complete the entry. The process includes biometric features, which WAEC will use to validate candidates at exam centres.

Candidates should read each entry field with care before submission.

WAEC GCE Registration Period

Generation of PIN closes on Friday, 31 July 2026.

Candidates should complete biometrics capturing and online registration by 11:59pm on Sunday, 2 August 2026. WAEC expects each candidate to finish the process within two weeks of first accessing the registration website, as long as that access falls within the registration period.

WAEC GCE Registration Fee and Payment

Candidates should pay Twenty Seven Thousand Naira, N27,000, at branches of listed banks or through accredited agents.

They will receive the Registration PIN and information VCD after payment. Banks and accredited agents will also charge Five Hundred Naira, N500, as commission.

Approved Banks for WAEC GCE Payment

Candidates may pay at any of these banks:

Cashless Payment Channels

Candidates may also buy a registration token with a credit or debit card through the cashless payment channels listed in the new advert.

Walk-In Candidates

Candidates who register after the close of entries may still be accepted as “Walk-in-Candidates”.

WAEC requires such candidates to register at least twenty-four hours before the scheduled time of the paper or papers they intend to write. The walk-in fee is Forty-Five Thousand Naira, N45,000.

Candidates With Special Needs

Candidates with special needs will register online like other candidates.

They should clearly state their impairments during registration, such as Visual, Low vision, Spastic, Speech, Hard to hear, or any other listed condition. This helps WAEC record the right details for the examination process.

Where Candidates Can Register

Candidates can buy their PIN and complete registration at accredited banks, cyber cafés, WAEC offices and “WAEC Registration Points” near them.

The process still ends online, so candidates should check every detail before upload.

Candidates may also check these MySchoolGist guides for related WAEC GCE information:

Completion of Registration

Each candidate must finish registration within two weeks of first access to the WAEC registration website during the registration period.

Candidates should check their names, gender, passport photographs, dates of birth and subjects before submission; WAEC will not take responsibility for errors in candidate details. After successful registration, each candidate should print the Admission Notice, which will serve as identification during the examination.

The Result Checker PIN will also appear on the Admission Notice.

The acceptable fingerprint scanner is the UareU digitalPersona fingerprint device.

WAEC GCE Exam Mode

The examination will be a computer-based test.

Objective papers will be fully CBT, while essay and test of practical papers will run as hybrid examinations. Questions will appear on screen, while candidates will write their answers in answer booklets.

WAEC will also hold an online mock examination for interested registered candidates who want to get familiar with the testing environment. The date and process for the mock examination will be sent to candidates through SMS, email and WAEC social media platforms.

General Information for WAEC GCE Candidates

Candidates should read these points before completing registration and before going to the exam hall.
