B. Postgraduate Diploma Programmes

Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Technology (PGDET) are available for students seeking a more advanced degree.

C. Master of Education Degree Programmes

For those looking for higher educational pursuits, the Institute offers Master of Education Degree Programmes in numerous disciplines, ranging from Adult Education Studies, Education, Educational Guidance and Counselling, to Physical Education with various options.

D. Sub-Degree Diploma Programmes

Courses for Sub-degree diploma programmes include Arabic Education, Human Kinetics and Health Education, Photography, Instructional Radio and Television Production, and Creative Arts.

M. Ed. Degree Programmes

Admission Requirements:

  1. A good First Degree Honours in Education with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division).
  2. A good First Degree in other disciplines with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) plus Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) obtained at credit level from a recognized University.
  3. Third Class Honours degree in Education with a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Technology (with a minimum of 60% pass grade); acceptable for admission into M.Ed. Educational Technology Programme only.
  4. Third Class Honours degree in other disciplines (B.A., B.Sc., B. Tech.; etc) plus a Postgraduate Diploma in educational Technology (with a minimum of 60% pass grade); acceptable for admission into M.Ed. Educational Technology programme only.

Sub-Degree Diploma Programmes

Human Kinetics and Health Education

Admission Requirements: At least 5 “O” Level Credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, at not more than two sittings.

Arabic Education

Admission Requirements:

Photography; Instructional Radio and Television Production; and Creative Arts

Admission Requirements: At least 5 “O” Level Credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics at not more two sittings.

Note: A credit pass in Mathematics and English at “O” Level, in addition to 3 relevant subjects, are required to qualify for admission into Sub-degree and Master Degree Programmes.

Application Fees

Payment should be made online with an ATM (Master Card or Visa Card). Cash payments are not allowed.

Closing Date for Sale and Submission of Application Forms

Applications for Postgraduate, Undergraduate, and Sub-degree Diplomas must be submitted between June 5th, 2023, and 20th July 2023.

The dates for the Masters’ Qualifying Examinations will be announced through the functional e-mail/GSM number (SMS) provided by the applicants and the University of Ilorin Website (IOE).

Exam Venue

The exam venue is at the Institute of Education, (Mini-Campus), University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria, starting at 9.00 am.
