Walabo’s abduction reportedly took place along the Asaba-Agbor highway in Delta State last week.
The 57-year-old registrar was returning from Abuja where he had gone for an official assignment when the incident took place.
A family source, who craved anonymity, said the kidnappers had yet to establish communication with the family.
The Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hilary Opara, who confirmed the incident, however, said the crime did take place within his jurisdiction.
Opara said he had been in touch with his colleague in Delta State over the abduction.
