'Degrees from Online Varsities are not Accepted in Nigeria' - NUC

National Universities Commission, NUC repudiated online degrees. Nigerians are warn to desist from patronizing online varsities and other degree awarding institutions operating online.
Nigerians have been warned against enrolling at online universities and other degree awarding institutions operating online. which offer academic programmes without provision for physical contact with admitted students.
The National Universities Commission (NUC) Public Relations officer, Ibrahim Yakasai, disclosed this at a press briefing when he said that degrees obtained online are not accepted in the country.
“Nigeria will not recognize online degrees. Online degrees are not accepted in Nigeria at the moment; the Nigerian constitution does not even give recognition to such degrees” he said.
He also urged parents to consult with the NUC before enrolling their wards at foreign institutions.
