JAMB Result

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, also known as JAMB, is an organisation that is authorised by law to administer entrance examinations to various universities, polytechnics, colleges, and other types of postsecondary institutions in Nigeria.

Candidates who took part in the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which was held between Saturday, May 6th and Sunday, May 15th, can now check their results online or by SMS.

Ways to Check JAMB Result

There are two different ways that you can check your JAMB result. The JAMB portal allows candidates to check their results online, and candidates can also check their results by text message (using JAMB shortcodes).

In order to check your result via the online option, you will need a device that is capable of connecting to the internet; nonetheless, using this option comes with a price. Candidates who do not have access to the internet or candidates who live in areas with poor network quality should consider selecting the SMS option. However, users would have to pay a fee to their network operator in order to use the SMS option.

Steps to Check JAMB Result Online

All the candidates who participated in the 2022 UTME and years before can now print their original results slip affixed with their passport photograph. You will need to make a payment of N1,500 to access your JAMB result slip.

  • STEP 1: Go to the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) eFacility portal [https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/] and log in with your credentials.

  • STEP 2: Under the list of services, locate and click on the Print Result Slip tab.

  • STEP 3: Select your payment option and continue with the payment.

  • STEP 4: After a successful payment, you can now proceed to check/print your result slip by selecting your exam year and entering your JAMB Registration Number in the required columns.

ALTERNATIVELY (this option seems not to be working currently)

  • Go to the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) result-checking website at https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/CheckUTMEResults
  • In the required column, enter your Registration Number/Phone Number.
  • Finally, press the ‘Check My Results’ button to view your UTME results notification.

The portal will return your JAMB Notification of Result if your result is ready. You can then proceed with the printing of the result.

How to Check 2022 JAMB Result Offline (via SMS)

All candidates can now send UTMERESULT (no spaces) via SMS to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number they used to register (you must have a credit balance of at least N50 on your line). The outcome will be sent to you as an SMS shortly after.
The following are the responses to be expected:

  • If a candidate uses a phone number that was not used during the registration process, he or she will receive the following notice in response: “This phone number was not used for registration.
  • A candidate with a result will receive the following message: “Dear Mr/Miss X, your result is as follows... (and further information will be provided).
  • If a result is withheld, the candidate will receive a “Result Withheld” text.
  • Let’s say a candidate falls under the umbrella of those who are given the benefit of the doubt. The person will then receive the notification, “Result withheld pending the upload of clarifications/document required from you,
  • If a candidate were absent, the reply would be “CANDIDATE ABSENT” A candidate that was ABSENT WITH REGISTRATION NUMBER also CANCELLED will be so informed.
  • A candidate who gains unauthorised entrance to the examination venue will receive the message “Invalid Entrance into the Exam Hall.”
