This is to inform the general public and most especially all the students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) that the management of the institution has released the academic calendar for the first and second semester, 2019/2020 academic session.

The Academic Calendar for the 2019/2020 Session is as follows:

FIRST SEMESTER

  • Monday, November 11th, 2019 – Online Registration Commences for all Returning Students
  • Monday January 20th, 2020 – Resumption / Commencement of Lectures
  • To be determined by DSA – Returning Students moves into Residence
  • To be Determined by DSA – Orientation Programme for Fresh Students
  • Friday – Matriculation Ceremony
  • Tuesday – Convocation Lecture
  • Wednesday – Convocation Ceremony
  • Thursday – Convocation Ceremony
  • Sunday March 1, 2020 – End of Registration of Courses for all Students
  • Monday March 16th to Sunday, March 29th, 2020 (2 Weeks) – Editing of Registered Courses
  • Friday April 24th, 2020 (14 Weeks) – Lectures End
  • Monday April 27th – Friday May 1, 2020 ( 1 Week) – Lecture Free Week / GST Examinations
  • Monday May 4 – Friday May 15th, 2020 (2 Weeks) – Undergraduate Examinations in all Faculties
  • Monday May 18th – Saturday, May 23rd, 2020 (1 Week) – Examination in Core Courses in Faculty of Education
  • Saturday May 23rd, 2020 – End of Semester / Students Depart / Opening of 2nd Semester 2019/2020 Registration Portal
  • Monday 25 – Friday June 5th, 2020 ( 2 Weeks) – First Semester Break
  • Thursday June 25, 2020 (4 Weeks after Exam) – Consideration of Results by BCOS Commences
  • Wednesday July 29th, 2020 – Senate Meeting for Consideration of Results.

SECOND SEMESTER

  • Monday, May 25th 2020 – Online Registration of Courses Commences
  • Monday, June 8th, 2020 – Resumption / Commencement of Lectures
  • Sunday, July 19th, 2020 – End of Registration of Courses
  • Monday, August 3 to Sunday August 16, 2020 – Editing of Registered Courses (2 weeks)
  • Friday, September 11, 2020 – Lectures End (14 weeks)
  • Monday, September 14 to Friday September 18, 2020 – Lecture-Free Week / GST Examinations (1 week)
  • Monday, September 21 to Saturday 3rd October, 2020 – Undergraduate Examination in all Faculties (2 weeks)
  • Monday, October 5 to Saturday 10th October, 2020 – Examination in all Core Courses in Faculty of Education (1 week)
  • Saturday, October 10th, 2020 – End of Semester/Students Depart /Opening of 2020/2021 Registration Portal
  • Monday, November 2nd to Friday November 13th, 2020 – Nigerian Universities Game (NUGA)
  • Thursday, November 12th, 2020 – Consideration of Results by BCOS commences (1 week after Exams)
  • Monday, November 23rd, 2020 – DLI Residential Programme Commences (6 weeks)
  • Wednesday, December 30th, 2020 Senate Meeting for Consideration of Results
  • Saturday, January 9th, 2021 – DLI Students Depart
  • Monday, January 18th, 2021 – Proposed Date of Resumption, 2020/2021 Session

STATUTORY PROGRAMMES

  • 2nd Wednesday of every month Faculty Board of Studies/Examiners
  • 2nd and 3rd Wednesday of every month Inaugural Lecture
  • Last Wednesday of every month – Senate Meeting
  • Two weeks after Examinations – Uploading of Results
